Patient Experience of Care
Patient Experience of Care is measured by the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. HCAHPS is a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology for measuring and publicly reporting patients’ perspectives of hospital care. The survey measures results of patient interaction with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff; cleanliness of the organization; pain control; communication about medicines; and discharge information.
The graphs available through the following pages illustrate responses to some of the HCAHPS questions:
1. Would recommend hospital to your friends and family
2. Treated with Respect by Physicians
3. Treated with Respect by Nurses
4. Pain Well Controlled During Stay
