Hardin Memorial Hospital Installs an Open MRI
Hardin Memorial Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Center installed a Siemens MAGNETOM Espree™ MRI. The new MRI features a large bore opening of over 2-feet in diameter and has almost 1-foot of free space between the patient and the magnet. The open bore design features the shortest 1.5 Tesla magnet available; with more than sixty percent (60%) of exams completed with the patient’s head outside of the bore.
Powered by total imaging matrix (Tim™) technology, the new MRI has shorter exam times and provides up to four times more signal-to-noise ratio over traditional open MRI designs, which is needed when imaging larger patients. With the addition of the new MAGNETOM Espree™, Hardin Memorial will start offering breast MRI this fall.
