Freida Herald wins the Kentucky Cancer Registry Excellence Award

Frieda Herald, lead cancer registrar at Central Baptist, has been awarded the Kentucky Cancer Registry’s Judith Ann Cook Award for Excellence in Cancer Registration. The annual award is presented to an outstanding hospital-based cancer registrar from Kentucky for outstanding leadership, dedicated service and commitment to quality in the field of cancer registration.

Herald, who has worked in the cancer registry field for 13 years, provided leadership which resulted in the hospital obtaining accreditation with commendation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. She embodies the concept of continuous quality improvement in the Registry and is always implementing improvements to processes.
